Cafeteria Man is a documentary that follows chef Tony Geraci as he tries to improve school lunch programs in Baltimore and Memphis.

As the newly hired Food and Nutrition Director of the city's public school district, Geraci hatches an ambitious, multi-faceted plan to feed students healthy, locally-sourced meals, teach them nutritional awareness, and offer them training and vocational opportunities in the world of food. His bold vision includes a 33-acre teaching farm, school vegetable gardens, student-designed meals, and meatless Monday's.We will also be screening one of the One Earth Young Filmmakers winning films If I Could by Saron Bahre. However, for the Academy for Global Citizenship screening, we will instead be screening a different One Earth Young Filmmakers winning film Monarchs in Motion by Mason Mirabile.Stay after the film for an enlightening facilitated dialogue with relevant experts and advocates.Our Youth Facilitator for this event will be Saeed Muhammad.Panelists:Kenyana Walker - Austin Grown CoordinatorKesiah Bascom - Manager of Austin GrownSaron Bahre, director of If I Could, will also be joining us virtually with a pre-recorded introduction to her film. ADA-compliant accessible venue.The Cafeteria Man film screening is part of BUILD Inc's larger Earth Day Celebration that will include a resource fair, seed swap, reptile showcase, cooking demo, a bike raffle and fix it clinic along with many family friendly activities and food! The event will begin at 11am and end at 3pm.
