Equal parts lit reading, talk show, and faculty meet and greet,<a href="https://www.facebook.com/seersuckerlive/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"> Seersucker Live</a> is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Savannah, Georgia. Founded in 2010, the organization’s goal is to entertain and promote the literary community by hosting readings, performances, and workshops that feature national, regional, and local writers. Join us for an evening of readings from works in progress and published works by SCAD featured alumni, Amy Paige Condon, Robert Criss, Ariel Felton, and Halle Hill.Award-winning freelance writer Amy Paige Condon (M.F.A. writing 2011) is the founder of the <a href="https://www.therefinerywritingstudio.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Refinery Writing Studio</a>, where she teaches creative writing. She serves as associate editor of Beacon, a quarterly magazine devoted to solutions journalism from the Savannah Morning News. With Cheryl and Griffith Day, she co-wrote the New York Times-bestselling The Back in the Day Bakery Cookbook (Artisan 2012). She followed it with the Wiley&#x27;s Championship BBQ Cookbook (Gibbs Smith), which was named the best cookbook of 2014 by the National Barbecue News, and she is now working with Che Farmer Matthew Raiford on his debut cookbook for Countryman Press. Condon&#x27;s biography of late Miami News editor Bill Baggs, A Nervous Man Shouldn&#x27;t Be Here in the First Place, will be published by UGA Press in Fall 2020. She lives in Savannah with her husband, three pups and a pig named Gus.Robert Criss (B.F.A. writing, 2020) is the Editor in Chief and Owner of<a href="https://clownsprayer.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"> Clown&#x27;s Prayer</a>, a SCAD alumni run humor website and freelances as a news writer for Screen Rant&#x27;s News division.Ariel Felton graduated with a Master’s degree in writing from SCAD in 2015. She currently works as a teaching artist and publications manager at Deep Center, a local nonprofit that supports Savannah’s youth with creative writing, leadership, and social justice programs. <a href="https://arielfelton.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Ariel Felton</a>&#x27;s writing has been published in The New Yorker, Progressive Magazine, Washington Post, The Bitter Southerner, McSweeney’s, Under the Gum Tree, Atlas Obscura, Scalawag Magazine, Reductress, Savannah Magazine and more.Halle Hill is a writer from East Tennessee. She is a graduate of Maryville College and the M.F.A. program in Writing at Savannah College of Art and Design. <a href="https://hallehill.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Halle Hill</a>&#x27;s work has been featured in Oxford American, Hobart, and others. She lives in Wyoming.This event is free and open to the public.
