Women's Wellness Week at Starlight continues with restorative yoga! Donation-based classes benefit local domestic violence non-profits.

Women's Wellness Week is a series of donation-based wellness classes at Starlight Square in Central Square, Cambridge to benefit local non-profits and highlight efforts during Domestic Violence Awareness Month.(Please note: Each class has its own Eventbrite!)11:30 a.m. Restorative Yoga with Marlene BoyetteSuitable for all levels, this gentle and Restorative yoga class invites participants to connect with the breath, in an attempt to release tension from their heart, mind and body. Participants can bring a yoga mat, towel or blanket to practice on, in addition to yoga blocks and an extra blanket if they have access to these things. They can still participate without mentioned tools. About Marlene<a href="https://www.instagram.com/marleneboyette/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Marlene Boyette</a>, founder of Boston based <a href="http://leelayogawellness.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Leela Yoga &amp; Wellness</a> and co-founder of Peace In Boston, is a 300 E-RYT Trauma Informed instructor, educator (teaching Yoga &amp; Meditation full time at The Advent School in Boston’s Beacon Hill), facilitator and community advocate. She is dedicated to using Yoga as a catalyst for nurturing and celebrating each person that she comes in contact with while teaching.Marlene began her personal yoga journey in 2004, after relocating from Central Massachusetts to Boston, becoming certified as a children’s yoga instructor in 2013 and receiving her Trauma Informed / Trauma Sensitive certification from 4 Corner’s Yoga + Wellness in 2016. By collaborating with various city / government agencies, organizations and programs such as the Boston Public Health Commission, The Boston Children’s Museum, The ICA and more, Marlene aims to make yoga, healing, wellness and more accessible to underserved communities. She believes in yoga as a way of life and an act of radical self-care and self-preservation, for all, but especially for people of color at this time.In support of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, all donations from this event will benefit <a href="https://www.respondinc.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"></a> <a href="http://transitionhouse.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Transition House</a>, and there will be a resource table outside of the Starlight Stage led by <a href="https://www.riversidecc.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Riverside Community Care</a>.All attendees are asked to review and agree to the Starlight Square Social Contract for community safety, which can be viewed <a href="https://www.starlightsquare.org/safety" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">here</a>.
