How will teams be ranked/divided?

Accepted Answer

16 teams, all in one bracket. Teams will be ranked 1 to 16 by reported skill level and put into pools accordingly:

Pool A - 1, 8, 9, 16
Pool B - 2, 7, 10, 15
Pool C - 3, 6, 11, 14
Pool D - 4, 5, 12, 13

Question 2

Why aren't there separate divisions in this tournament?

We recognize that folks may want to separate by gender and/or skill level, but for this first one, it will be more about fun and seeing how it works!  We also want to gauge how many teams we can handle in one weekend at only 2 courts.

Question 3

What is the format of play for each day?

Accepted Answer

Everyone will get at least 3 games on Saturday in Pool Play.  Results from Saturday will be taken to determine seeding on Sunday for bracket play (1 to 16, wins first, total points as tie breaker).  Everyone will get at least one more match on Sunday (at least 4 in total for the weekend).

Who is invited to the reception on Friday and cocktail hour on Saturday?

Each player is invited to these events as well as a +1 for each player.  Please RSVP the total number of guests for your team in the registration questionnaire.
