These are membership socials & networking opportunities open to the public. This is our attempt to create a virtual space for our international volunteers to meet each other and feel connected. This is also our way of branching out and meeting new individuals interested in our cause/projects.

These gatherings are held the 3rd Thursday of each month from 8-9:30pm (CT).

Who is Public Invention?

Public Invention is an org focused on advancing public good through open-source innovation. Our mission is to encourage and support the development of public inventions—technologies and solutions that are open to the public, enabling anyone to use, improve, and build upon them for societal benefit.

What kind of community is Public Invention?

Our org fosters inclusive, collaborative communities around open-source projects, where the development of solutions isn't limited by patents/proprietary ownership. We also aim to empower people, including underrepresented groups like women in STEM, by providing a platform for collaboration.

Why does Public Invention participate in open-source concepts?

Accepted Answer

PI promotes the idea that innovation should be accessible, especially for communities & people who may not have the resources to create/access technology otherwise. Open-source allows anyone—regardless of resources, background, or location—to contribute to & benefit from tech advances.
