What is a Death Doula? What do Death Doulas do compared to providers of palliative and hospice care? How do Death Doulas provide caregiver centered support at the end stage of life of a loved one?The burden of health care, medical and end of life decision making can quickly go beyond overwhelming. Sudden medical events, information overload, financial duress, emotional conflict, physical exhaustion and spiritual strain can all combine to quickly move a family caregiver, entire household and/or family, from “coping to barely hanging in there”. Furthermore, caregivers typically do not realize early on that they have also entered the stages of grief.Eric brings 33 years of professional and personal experiences into discussing enhancing caregiving centered support, the stages of grief, and how family legacy projects, rituals and vigils can help towards the end of a loved one’s life.
