Northwest Connecticut Arts Council and Arts &amp; Culture Collaborative will be co-hosting a CT Arts Alliance Create the Vote 2020 "Waterbury Region CT Candidate Forum"This November, we will vote in one of the most important elections in recent history. In partnership with the state's Designated Regional Service Organizations (DRSOs), the Connecticut Arts Alliance has organized "Create The Vote," a campaign to focus attention on the importance of the arts and culture in your voting deliberations November 3.Your newly-elected statewide representatives must quickly address complex issues facing the future of our state. They must understand that supporting and protecting the arts and culture sector is critical to rebuild our economy, revitalize our neighborhoods, and reimagine our way of life during and beyond the pandemic. Harnessing the power of the arts must be part of their plans for a resilient Connecticut.This virtual forum, part of a series of regional candidate forums connecting voters and candidates, will present Candidates in CT house and senate races from the Waterbury region and Northwest CT, speaking about how they will support arts and culture in CT. Audience questions will be welcomed if time allows.Create the Vote CT is a nonpartisan public education campaign to raise awareness and support for the arts among voters and candidates running for public office.
