The University of Tennessee Center for Industrial Services (UT CIS) was established in 1963 by the Tennessee General Assembly and charged with “…. provision of information, data and materials relating to the needs of industry….”. From the outset, CIS was organized along the lines of the long-established and highly successful “extension service model.”Tennessee business and industry are assisted daily by CIS engineering and professional staff in improving their economic competitiveness on a national and global level. On a larger scale, CIS is one of five units of the University of Tennessee Institute for Public Service. This institute is the non-agricultural public service arm of the university providing public service work to business and industry in Tennessee.PTAC is funded, in part, by the U.S. Department of Defense and is administered through a cooperative agreement with the Defense Logistics Agency.

Reading and understanding the solicitation! Before you expend resources towards a proposal writing effort, it is imperative that you understand what the government needs and expects from a successful offeror(s) (i.e. scope of work, special contract requirements, evaluation criteria, proposal submission instructions, performance metrics, solicitation provisions/contract clauses, etc.). </h3><h3>Join us as we review a solicitation, issued by a federal agency, from the front to back covers. Receive best practices and tips for proposal preparation along the way. As a result of participating in this webinar, you will receive a fully annotated solicitation. </h3><h2>About the Speaker</h2><h3>Alexis Kirksey is the Program Manager for The Contracting Education Academy at Georgia Tech, operating within the Georgia Institute of Technology&#x27;s Enterprise Innovation Institute. Her expertise includes providing consultation to government and industry in all aspects of government contracting, including market research, solicitation and proposal preparation, contract accounting, contract administration, small business certifications, and Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) compliance. In addition to teaching and designing instructional materials for operational units within Georgia Tech, she has worked with the National Contracts Management Association (NCMA), the National Center for American Indian Economic Development (NCAIED), and the Association of Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (APTAC). She has served as Defense Acquisition University (DAU) equivalency instructor for Georgia Tech since 2015.</h3><h3>Kirksey has a Master&#x27;s Degree and B.S. in Accounting from Kennesaw State University.</h3>
