About the panel:Ivy Muteithia, PharmD, is a clinical pharmacist. Ivy received her Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmaceutical Science from The Ohio State University (2008) and her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Northeast Ohio Medical University College of Pharmacy (NEOMED) (2012). She has completed post-graduate year 1 (PGY1) managed care residency with an emphasis in ambulatory care (2013). In her spare time, she likes to participate in strength training, conditioning, and yoga activities. She also enjoys traveling, reading, eating good food, and spending time with family and friends.Melanie R. Smith, Pharm.D., BCACP, DPLA is the Director of the ASHP Section of Ambulatory Care Practitioners. In this role, Dr. Smith serves as an ASHP information resource and provides guidance to ASHP members on pharmacy practice in various ambulatory care practice settings. She also is the staff liaison to the Section of Ambulatory Care Practitioners Executive Committee.Previously, Dr. Smith was the Director, Educational Programs within ASHP’s Educational Services Division. In this role, she helped coordinate continuing educational programming for ASHP’s national meetings. Prior to joining ASHP, Dr. Smith was a Clinical Pharmacist II with United Healthcare as well as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist with the Roudebush VA Medical Center.Dr. Smith received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of North Carolina and her Doctor of Pharmacy from Virginia Commonwealth University. She completed an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency at the Lexington VA Medical Center in 2008, obtained her Board Certification in Ambulatory Care in 2011, and completed the Pharmacy Leadership Academy through the ASHP Foundation in 2015Bri Robinson, PharmD has been working in healthcare for greater than a decade to date. After starting as a certified medication aide for a home health care agency in her hometown of Cleveland, Ohio, Bri went on to work as a pharmacy technician at a local Walgreens prior to leaving for college. She continued her pharmacy career at the James L Winkle College of Pharmacy in Cincinnati, Ohio. While in Cincinnati, Bri became very active in the NPhA and continues as an active member now. Upon returning to Cleveland after graduation with her PharmD, Bri worked as a pharmacy manager at Walgreens while also serving as the district Medication Therapy Management Lead and Immunization Specialist. Outside of pharmacy, Bri works as a member of the international finance committee and a regional medical staff director for her church organization. These roles have taken on an expansive meaning as reopening procedures and financial relief have become vital to the well-being of the membership in light of COVID-19.Upon completion of her MBA, Bri accepted a position at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation as a relief pharmacist. After a year of service, she transitioned into the role of Pharmaceutical Care Manager of the Beachwood Family Health and Surgery Center for the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Bri is very passionate about encouraging the next generation of pharmacists to provide culturally competent and accessible healthcare services to all demographics. Bri has provided educational presentations including continuing education talks for NPhA, Kaiser Permanente, the Northern Ohio Academy of Pharmacy, and the Kentucky College of Contemporary Religion. She sees outpatient pharmacy as an extension of general med, and is passionate about encouraging pharmacists to practice to the full extent of our education and training as pharmaceutical experts.
