Ακολουθώντας την έννοια του &quot;Learning by Watching,&quot; το MDFF Greece βασίζεται στην προβολή και τις δυνατότητες της κινηματογραφικής «γλώσσας» στην ψηφιακή εποχή. Η μοναδική ικανότητα της Έβδομης Τέχνης να ενημερώνει, να διερευνά, να εκπαιδεύει, να ψυχαγωγεί, να εμπλέκει και να φέρνει σε επαφή θεατές από ένα ευρύ κοινωνικό φάσμα, μετουσιώνει τις προβολές σε ευκαιρίες προβληματισμού, κοινωνικοποίησης και δημιουργικής αλχημείας. Το Milano Design Film Festival Greece—Athens, στο πλαίσιο των προφεστιβαλικών του δράσεων, προσκαλεί το Εργαστήριο ΠΟΙΩ Δήμου Αθηναίων- και την επιστημονική ομάδα του TUC TIE Lab από το Πολυτεχνείο Κρήτης, να συμπράξουν και να συνδιαμορφώσουν μια δράση για το κοινό, εμπνευσμένη από τις θεματικές ενότητες του MDFF Greece—Athens, με σκοπό να εξετάσει και να αναδείξει παράλληλα κοινωνικά και περιβαλλοντικά ζητήματα. Η δράση περιλαμβάνει μια μονόωρη προβολή που επιμελείται το MDFF Greece—Athens, με στόχο να εμπνεύσει τη συνδιαμόρφωση ενός εργαστηρίου ατομικής ενδυνάμωσης και μέσα από την εκπαίδευση στη χρήση νέων τεχνολογιών (maker learning), σε συνδυασμό με τις ευκαιρίες για κοινωνική δραστηριοποίηση σε θέματα βιωσιμότητας (design thinking and creative reuse) να επιδιώξει μια ευρύτερη κατανόηση και αλλαγή νοοτροπίας στην περιβαλλοντική μας συμπεριφορά.

Following the notion &quot;Learning by Watching,&quot; MDFF Greece relies on the cinematic language&#x27;s prominence and potential in our digital era. The unique ability of cinema as the Seventh Art to inform, investigate, educate, entertain, engage, and bring together viewers from all walks of life turns screenings into opportunities for reflection, socialization, and creative alchemy. Within the context of its pre-festival program, Milano Design Film Festival Greece—Athens has curated a one hour of screenings that set the base  for the Learn-Make-Change workshop. The curated film titles aim to inspire the configuration of an individual empowerment workshop through training in the use of new technologies (maker learning), combined with opportunities for social awareness in sustainability (design thinking and creative reuse) as well as behavior change.<h3></h3><h3>/// WHERE</h3>

Η σκηνή ενός φυσικού καταρράκτη επιλέγεται για να διηγηθεί τα κίνητρα που ενέπνευσαν την γέννηση ενός αδημοσιευτου και καινοτόμου υλικού από ένα δημιουργικό μυαλό, τον σχεδιαστή Marco Guazzini. Prato, η πόλη της κλωστοϋφαντουργίας. Pietrasanta, η πόλη του μαρμάρου. Αυτά τα δύο δεδομένα τον παρακινούν  να πειραματιστεί με ένα υλικό από μαλλί και μάρμαρο, το Marwoolus. Απομεινάρια από την κατασκευή έγχρωμου μαλλιού ανακυκλώνονται και αποτυπώνονται στην επιφάνεια μαρμάρου, αφήνοντας με συμβολικό τρόπο ένα γνήσιο μοτίβο του Guazzini. Μέσα από το υλικό και το έργο προβάλλονται αξίες της οικονομικής και οικολογικής βιωσιμότητας.

A natural waterfall is the scene chosen in which to tell of the inspirational motives behind the birth of an unpublicized and innovative material, fruit of the creative mind of designer Marco Guazzini. Prato, city of the textile industry. Pietrasanta, city of marble. These are the two realities motivating him to experiment with a material of wool and marble, Marwoolus. Remnants from the manufacture of coloured wool are recycled, imprinted deep into white marble, leaving a symbolic and real pattern desired by Guazzini. The material and the ensuing work also speak for values of economical and ecological sustainability.

Ο διάσημος Κινέζος ηθοποιός Jackie Chan, ενώνει τις δυνάμεις του με τον πρωτοπόρο της τεχνολογίας και αναδυόμενο εξερευνητή του National Geographic, Arthur Huang. Οι δύο τους, έχουν εφεύρει την πρώτη φορητή μηχανή ανακύκλωσης πλαστικών, την Trashpresso, η οποία δύναται να μετατρέπει επι τόπου σκουπίδια από πλαστικό, σε πλακίδια πολλαπλών χρήσεων. Σήμερα η αποστολή τους είναι να δοκιμάσουν την αποτελεσματικότητά του σε ένα από τα πιο τραχιά περιβάλλοντα του κόσμου, το οροπέδιο του Θιβέτ. Η ταινία προσδοκά να κινητοποιήσει τις νεότερες γενιές να αλλάξουν τον τρόπο με τον οποίο προσεγγίζονται περιβαλλοντικές προκλήσεις, όπως είναι η περίπτωση των πλαστικών αποβλήτων.

The famous Chinese actor Jackie Chan is joining forces with technological innovator and National Geographic Emerging Explorer, Arthur Huang. Together, they have invented the world&#x27;s first fully mobile plastics recycling machine - The Trashpresso, which can turn waste plastic into multi-use tiles on-site. Now, they&#x27;re on a mission to test it in one of the world&#x27;s harshest environments – the Tibetan Plateau. The film focuses on motivating younger generations to change the way humanity approaches environmental challenges such as plastic waste.
