Metro Bike Share: Vermont & Exposition

Join us for an exciting and eco-friendly bike ride as we connect with the Metro Rail system! We’ll be cycling from University Park to Culver City, enjoying the sights all along the way. We'll then dock our bikes at the Metro E Line Station, where we will transfer on to the Metro E Line for a seamless journey back to our starting point This event is a great opportunity to experience the best of both worlds—bike-friendly routes and convenient rail access. Whether you’re a seasoned cyclist or a beginner, all are welcome! Ride InformationLet’s pedal through the city and explore the ease of transferring between Metro Bike Share and the Metro Rail system. See you there!Our community Ride is FREE, but to keep riding Metro Bike Share through the month, feel free to ask us how. If you would like to use a Metro Bike Share bike at no cost, please reserve an "I need to borrow a bike" ticket when you register. You must be 16+ to ride a Metro Bike. Participants will also receive a FREE helmet.Important Details:<ul><li>Date: 03/08/2025</li></ul><ul><li>Time: 10:00 am - 1:00 pm</li></ul><ul><li>Distance: The route is a 6.6-mile one-way trip on mostly flat surfaces with bike lanes or bike-friendly streets. Upon returning, we will take a 20-minute ride on the E Line.</li></ul> Start and End Location: Vermont &amp; Exposition Station<ul><li>Experience Level: Intermediate (must be able to ride 3 miles on a bicycle with light inclines). You must be 16+ to ride a Metro Bike. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times; no training wheels are allowed. Children in trailers/child bike seats are welcome on personal bikes.</li></ul>What to expect:<ul><li>Route: We'll be riding a 6.6-mile one-way trip and returning on the E-Line, taking in some of the most scenic spots in the neighborhood. The ride will be at a social pace, with plenty of opportunities to chat, enjoy the views, and take pictures.</li></ul><ul><li>Before the ride: If you don't have a helmet, one will be provided to you. We'll begin with a brief safety talk and route overview before heading out.</li></ul><ul><li>Pace &amp; Support: This is a no-drop ride, meaning no one gets left behind. We'll have ride leaders to keep the group together and make sure everyone's having a good time.</li></ul>What to bring:<ul><li>A functional bicycle or wheeled device (highly recommended with gears) if you would prefer to provide your own. We do not have a mechanic on the ride and recommend you carry your own tire repair kit.</li></ul><ul><li>Hand sanitizer</li></ul><ul><li>TAP card or cash for the fare on the return trip via Metro train($1.75 per ride).</li></ul><ul><li>A helmet (If you do not have one, one will be provided free of charge)</li></ul><ul><li>Water bottle</li></ul>Safety Protocols:<ul><li>We will be observing strict protocols during the ride to ensure the safety and comfort of all participants. Please keep in mind the following rules while attending the ride:</li></ul><ul><li>If you are feeling sick or unwell, please stay home.</li></ul><ul><li>Metro Bike Share will provide helmets, water, and ride marshals.</li></ul><ul><li>Participants are required to sign a release of liability.
