Gallery Talk: T. Shanaathanan and Neloufer De Mel

Join artist and academic T. Shanaathanan (b.1969) and academic Prof. Neloufer De Mel as they speak to Senior Curator Sandev Handy. They will respond to Shanaathanan’s works ‘Grandma’s Courtyard II’ (2004), ‘Drawers of War Transactions’ (2019), and ‘Nation’ (2015) that are currently on display in ‘Total Landscaping’ Rotation 2, in relation to De Mel’s work on militarism, memory and popular culture.This Gallery is offered as part of the museum’s Public Programmes for ‘Total Landscaping’ Rotation 2, on view for free of charge until 2 March 2025.Location: MMCA Sri Lanka galleriesජ්‍යේෂ්ඨ අභිරක්ෂක සන්දෙව් හැන්ඩි සමඟ සංවාදයේ යෙදෙන කලාකරු සහ කලා ඉතිහාසඥ ටී. ශනාතනන් (උ.1969) සහ මහාචාර්ය නෙලූෆර් ද මෙල් සමඟ එක්වන්න. ඔවුන් දැනට ‘බිම් පෙරළිය’ දෙවන වටමාරුවේ සංදර්ශිත ශනාතනන්ගේ ‘Grandma’s Courtyard II’ (2004), ‘Drawers of War Transactions’ (2019), සහ ‘Nation’ (2015) යන කලාකෘතීන් පිළිබඳ ව, මිලිටරීකරණය, මතකය, සහ ජනප්‍රිය සංස්කෘතිය පිළිබඳ මහාචාර්ය ද මෙල්ගේ ලියැවීම්වලට අදාළව සාකච්ඡා කරනු ඇත.මෙම ගැලරි කතාව 2025 මාර්තු 2 දක්වා නොමිලේ ප්‍රදර්ශනය කෙරෙන ‘බිම් පෙරළිය’ දෙවන වටමාරුව සඳහා කෞතුකාගාරයේ මහජන වැඩසටහන්වල කොටසක් ලෙස ලබා දෙයි.ස්ථානය: MMCA ශ්‍රී ලංකා ගැලරිசுரேஷ்ட எடுத்தாளுநர் சந்தேவ் ஹன்டியுடன் கலைஞரும் கலை வரலாற்றாலாளருமான டீ. சனாதனன் (பி.1979) மற்றும் பேராசிரியர் நெலூஃபர் டெ மெல் கலந்து கொள்ளவுள்ள உரையாடலில் இணைந்து கொள்ளுங்கள். தற்போது ‘முழு நில அமைப்பு’ சுழற்சி 2 ல் காட்சிப்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ள சனாதனனின் படைப்புகளான ‘Grandma’s Courtyard II’ (2004), ‘Drawers of War Transactions’ (2019), and ‘Nation’ (2015) குறித்து அவர்கள் கலந்துரையாடுவார்கள். அப் படைப்புகள் இராணுவமயமாக்கல், நினைவு, மற்றும் மக்கள் மயக் கலாச்சாரம் பற்றிப் பேராசிரியர் நெலூஃபரின் எழுத்தாக்கங்களுடன் தொடர்புறுபவையாக அமையும்.‘முழு நில அமைப்பு’ கண்காட்சியின் சுழற்சி 2 ற்காக அருங்காட்சியகத்தின் பொது நிகழ்ச்சிகளின் ஒரு பகுதியாக இந்த கலரி உரையாடல் பெறுகிறது. 2 மார்ச் 2025 வரை இதனைப் பார்வையிடலாம். அனுமதி இலவசம்.இடம்: MMCA இலங்கை கலரிகள்
