No more trying to be mindful alone.The Hive exists to develop creative, compassionate, and mindfully-engaged citizens in the Cincinnati region through small group classes and workshops. We have curated a collective of proven teachers, facilitators, and spiritual directors to help guide your learning in mindfulness, contemplation, art and action. We hope you'll try a class and like it enough to become a regular member. Lubbe</p><p>The Zamboni is the quintessential machine for smoothing ice in skating and hockey rinks. The attention we give to what’s underneath and how that meets the surface can bring a smoothing reality to life, work, and our wider world. </p><p>Since we now know that our genetic inheritance goes back multiple generations, we’re aware that there’s a whole lot of history we’re carrying around. A lot of experiences lie under the surface influencing us more than we realize! Many of us are striving to become less reactive to our lives, and more responsive in them; more mindful and connected to each present moment vs. tied to and triggered by our regretful past or fearful future; more expansive and able to bring our whole selves – head/heart/body – to our experience interacting with the present moment.</p><p>There are so many connections to be made between this process of integrating our past experience with what a Zamboni does when it melts and smooths away the bumps, cuts and bruises on an ice rink, creating a clean, clear, unbroken surface to effortlessly receive the next skater. Imagine this happening inside your consciousness, smoothing backward through time to release trapped emotion, enabling you to bring a fuller, more continuous and integrated self to your present experience. This course is all about being able to digest and process our unintegrated experiences through shared presence, meditation and contemplation to reform a “smooth surface” for continued growth.</p><p>Together we’ll reflect on our histories and Niki will share content and practices from The Presence Process, various Enneagram sources, poems, readings, and maybe videos and music, to guide us toward greater present-moment awareness. During and between class sessions we’ll practice consciously connected breathing and perhaps journal about what we notice. </p><p>Niki Pappas has been focusing on wellness and spiritual growth for the past 10 years, following a 20-year career in marketing research. Her endeavors have included certifications for holistic health coaching, yoga, Thai bodywork, and currently, the Enneagram. Niki has been involved with the Hive since May 2018 when she facilitated a course on the Second Half of Life. She has participated in many classes, facilitated several more, co-leads the Second Half Cohort, has started an Enneagram Cohort, and now serves on the Hive Lead Team. Leading with Enneagram Type 4, Niki is committed to her own inner work and honored to offer and receive presence and compassion in all of her relationships. Niki lives in OTR and is the mother of two amazing young men.</p><h3>Classes will not be held during the week of Thanksgiving, 11/23-11/27.</h3><h3>Due to COVID-19 limitations, all Hive November/December classes are online.
