Gateway Performance Productions is a long-established, internationally recognized company, officially designated as an Atlanta Legacy Business in cooperation with Invest Atlanta.As a non-profit organization, Gateway is committed to creating and disseminating transformative art-based experiences.At our venue, The Mask Center - Atlanta's Boutique Theatre - we create unique, original work while simultaneously serving as guardians of ancient tradition. We specialize in original text-based productions and physical theatre. This includes mime, mask performance, and maintaining a traditional Irish Folk theatre troupe with support from the Irish government. The Gateway Mummers have performed in the United States, Denmark, and throughout Ireland, Northern Ireland, and Scotland.Our mission extends beyond the stage, both in person and virtually, through extensive classes, workshops, residencies, and outreach programs, including the innovative Arts Pharmacy. These services are provided by prescription from medical doctors, certified social workers, and therapists. Our programming is also available to military veterans through medical and mental health initiatives.

Gateway Performance Productions in assocation with the Little 5 Points Community Center is honored to present internationally renowned teacher, martial artist and yoga master Allen Pittman. Allen has enhanced Gateway’s programming for decades as an instructor and a performer. He is offering this workshop for a fraction of his usual fee in order to introduce paticipants to his uniquely designed health and wellness protocol. Allen is also offering this workshop as a training for Gateway artists who will serve our local community on an ongoing basis with this protocal.WISDOM OF THE BODY is a comprehensive system of retrieving and releasing trauma, establishing mental and physical congruency in the musculature and nervous system and preparing the human being for life and its existential threats. It is the only system at present (2024) which unifies educational child development principles, yoga culture and enlightenment spirituality with the training of existential self defense.Wisdom of the Body, is rooted in innate movements that we are all born with. The system weaves together individual history, world history and existential initiation into a protocol of movement combining animal insights with Rites of Passage. The workshop is for ages 12 and up. He has apprenticed with Wisdom teachers around the world in medicine, martial arts and yoga. His main studies have combined the Warrior and the Healer. At the age of 15 he began his studies with Robert W Smith and after 7 years he moved to Taiwan and studied with Hung I Mien, which set him upon a world journey meeting various teachers and practices. Allen taught for Robert Smith for 18 years and co-authored two books with him. Few have Allen’s level of experience and practice. He has studied various forms of yoga and developed a practice named Wisdom of the Body. Its unique root has been the culmination of 45 years of study and practice. Allen has been the security coordinator and sometime personal escort/bodyguard for celebrities who participated in The Mythic Journeys Conferences and at various times the bodyguard to H.H.the Dalai Lama, Ralph Nader, Andrew Young and Deepak Chopra.AgendaWisdom of the Body2 pm to 5 pm.2-3 floorwork, 3-4 standing work (aka Egyptian Yoga), 4-5 Amazon Dance – all 3 parts together are Wisdom of the Body.
