We empower kids to create a kinder community with their hearts, hands, and minds. Check back frequently, as we post new service opportunities on the 1st and 15th of each month.

Seeds of Caring

Children will assemble personal care kits and create messages of caring for youth supported by Huckleberry House.

Who this Anywhere Project is for:Ages 4-12. Not sure if this project is the right fit for your kids? Email us with questions at programs@seedsofcaring.org.What you'll be doing:Each year, thousands of youth experience homelessness in Franklin County and need a trusting place to turn to for help. For many of these youths, <a href="https://www.huckhouse.org/" title="https://www.huckhouse.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Huckleberry House</a> is that trusting place. Let’s show support to these youth by writing notes of caring and packing helpful personal care kits. Together, we can help change the story of unhoused youth for the better.When you'll be doing it:This Anywhere Project can be done at home, school, or wherever you are!This project is on-going. Families and groups may participate anytime until the project ends on March 23rd. Donations may be contact-free, porch-dropped from 9am - 7pm March 21st-23rd at a Seeds of Caring Ambassador's home in Dublin, Blacklick or Powell. Addresses are provided in the service packet.How it all works:Once you have completed registration, you will receive a confirmation email from Eventbrite with a link to your service packet. This packet includes project instructions, guided discussions and more. In every Seeds of Caring service packet, you'll find quick, easy-to-use guides to support you in leading meaning-making conversations! This project's guided discussion focuses on homelessness and empathy.Approximate Cost:Approximately $5 per kit including 3+ items like travel-size deoderant, travel-size toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, and more. Cheer cards can be created with craft supplies on hand or from the printable template provided in the service packet.Why you'll be invited to donate:Every time we're able to design, coordinate, and offer an opportunity for kids to give back, it's with the help of supporters like you.
