Join the COF/Northeastern University CERT program for our certification training course. This course is open to students only.

International Village Residence Hall

The CERT program trains participants on basic emergency response processes, including personal preparedness, fire safety, and basic first aid. CERT volunteers may be called upon by their host institution to engage during an emergency activation or to prepare for an event. Participants are required to attend both days in their entirety. There are no additional requirements for further participation unless you volunteer. You chose your involvement level! YOU MUST FULLY ATTEND BOTH DAYS TO RECEIVE A CERTIFICATE!There are 8 CERT units:<ul><li>Unit 1 – Disaster Preparedness</li><li>Unit 2 – CERT Organization</li><li>Unit 3 – Disaster Medical Operations Part 1</li><li>Unit 4 – Disaster Medical Operations Part 2</li><li>Unit 5 – Disaster Psychology</li><li>Unit 6 – Fire Safety &amp; Utility Controls</li><li>Unit 7 – Light Search and Rescue</li><li>Unit 8 – Terrorism/Active Threat</li></ul>This course will be taught by members of the COF and experts in the field from Boston and beyond! The course will be held on Saturday, October 18th, from 9 AM to 4 PM and Sunday, October 19th, from 9 AM to 5 PM. Lunch is included. It is free to students within the COF and Northeastern University ONLY.
