What is the Battle of the Dad Bands Festival?

The Inaugural Battle of the Bands Festival is a family-friendly music event featuring live performances by local bands, food vendors, artisan booths, and fun activities for all ages.

When and where is the event taking place?

The event will take place on Saturday, June 7 from 12:00pm - 5:00pm at Piper Park in Larkspur. Doors will open at 11:30 AM with the first band taking the stage at 12:15. We encourage you to get their early so you have time to get some food and drinks before the show begins.

What types of bands will be performing?

We will have bands from 6 different cities across Marin County all competing for the coveted prize of being crowned winner of the Inaugural Battle of the Dad Bands! The event will then close out with Wonder Bread 5 beginning around 3:30pm.

Question 4

Will there be a winner of the Battle of the Dad Bands?

Accepted Answer

Yes! The winner will receive bragging rights, along with a coveted spot performing at Hopmonk Tavern in Novato at a later date.

Will there be food vendors?

Accepted Answer

Yes! There will be food available for purchase from a variety of local vendors including HopMonk Tavern, Poke a Go Go, Loveski's Deli and Left Bank.

Will there be alcohol served?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Your ticket purchase (either GA or VIP) will get you unlimited tastings of all of the amazing breweries in the Beer Garden. We will also have some N/A and alternative drink (Lemonade, cider, etc) options available. Select breweries will also be selling full sized canned beverages.

Is the festival pet friendly?

Unfortunately, no. Please leave your pets (service animals with proof are ok) at home for this event.

What is  included with the VIP Ticket?

The VIP Ticket will get you a tasting glass for unlimited tastings in the beer garden, (2) full sized beers provided by Gordon Biersch in the Hopmonk Tavern VIP area, a food runner for the Hopmonk Tavern Food Trucks and premier seating near the stage

What is your bag policy and water bottle policy?

Accepted Answer

Bags and water bottles will be allowed in the event. No outside alcohol, weapons, or food will be allowed. We will also have a water station available to refill bottles.

Is there parking at the park?

Accepted Answer

Parking at the park is limited so we recommend taking a ride share or biking to the event. If you drive, you are able to park across the street at Redwood HS and walk over to Piper Park.

What time do doors open?

Accepted Answer

Doors will open at 11:30am with the first band taking the stage at 12:15pm. We recommend getting there early!

Question 13

What am I allowed to bring into the event?

Accepted Answer

You are welcome to bring a blanket and low chairs to set up on the lawn along with reusable water bottles (there will be a water tank on-site to refill). No outside alcohol will be permitted and any alcohol purchased at the event must be consumed or thrown away prior to exiting.
