Hello! I am Carrie Branovan, aka Zaza, School of Movement Medicine Teacher and Facilitator,Movement Medicine is the North Star in my constellation. I absolutely LOVE offering this practice. I recommend both daily practices and immersive intensive experiences both in person and online. I have found this work has transformed my relationships to my Self, my Partner, my Community, my Ancestors, and to the Source. It is absolutely life changing-- our bodies are incredible diviniation tools.Movement Medicine is a beautiful tapestry woven of  practices that many of us have know and find valubale-- the difference here is that it is happening simultaneously: Constellations, Gestalt Therapy, Contemporary Everyday Shamanism, Somatic Therapy, cutting edge Neuroscience, and of course, the ancient super-power of Dance. Students learn tools that are applicable to  everyday, and at one's own pace. You allow your body's wisdom to inform you, listening deeply to the Inner Dancer that moves freely with the winds of change.Movement Medicine has been predominantly offered in person in UK Europe, and Asia, but with your support , it is gracefully making it's way to the Americas and Canada, and reaching new people globally thanks to the magic of online technology and the insight of co-founders Ya'Acov and Susannah Darling Khan, many excellent deeply experienced Movement Medicine teachers, and YOU. TheMovement Medicinefamily of dancers is growing quickly due to the depths of resource and grace this practice brings during these times of massive shifts.There are three books written by the Founders which provide in- depth learnngs about the philosophy and processes. <h1>the wisdom of your body series (4) </h1><p>OPEN TO 20 DANCERS PER SESSION-  </p><h3>SILENT DISCO TECHNOLOGY (USING HEADSETS) </h3><h3>PLEASE REGISTER IN ADVANCE</h3><h3> facilitated by Carrie Branovan aka DJ Lady Zaza</h3><p><strong>ALL ARE WELCOME</strong> Please accept my invitation to a dance of life, in person, in a safe space. For two hours, we will create  community with tall trees and caring people--socially distanced-- moving freely to soulful organic beats</p><p>No dance experience necessary. <strong>IF YOU CAN MOVE YOU CAN DANCE.</strong> Come exactly as you are. There is nothing to learn.  All cultural backgrounds, genders, ages, races, and physical conditions are very very welcome. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Contact Carrie if tuition fee is unaffordable due to financial hardship. </p><p>MASKS ARE WORN UNTIL WE REACH THE FOREST, AT WHICH POINT THEY ARE OPTIONAL. </p><p>We space oursleves 6-12 feet apart, bringing our own blankets or mats. Dancers can move up to 100 feet away from the DJ Table. </p><p><strong>THERE IS AMPLE SPACE </strong>AND ABUNDANT NATURE TO IMMERSE YOURSELF IN! </p><h2><em>"Let's shut off the news, our phones, the computers, and our minds for a short while....give our nervous systems a  break....listen to the wisdom of our bodies....</em></h2><p>You may choose to lay on your blanket and look up at the sky wiggling your fingers and toes-- or prance like a deer--<strong> whatever your body's wisdom informs you to do</strong>-- you are welcome here. No judgement, and no expectations. </p><p>*********</p><h2>the wisdom of your body series (4) </h2><p>Each week of the series of 4 Sundays, we will explore an aspect of our inner wisdom offering gratitude to our miraculous living body. </p><blockquote><strong>Week One:</strong> EARTH: Connecting with our body's physical wisdom . We honor our indigenous nature, giving ourselves permission to be who we are, where we are,  and to grow our roots deeply into the ground. </blockquote><blockquote><strong>Week Two</strong>: FIRE: Honoring our emotional wisdom. Our ability to hear the whisters of our intuition to consider the next right thought and action. </blockquote><blockquote><strong>Week Three: </strong>WATER: Surrendering to our inner wisdom of our heart,  that informs us when to let go,  to forgive, to grieve loss, to release  with compassion. </blockquote><blockquote><strong>Week Four: </strong>AIR and ETHER: Opening to all the possibilities of what is present and Unknown. To what animates. Stepping into  the present moment. To meet what is with confidence. Wings of hope. </blockquote><aside>***********</aside><p><strong>EACH SESSION IS OPEN TO UP TO 20 DANCERS</strong> who will have the use of <strong>"silent disco"  </strong>audio receivers that clip to your shirt, belt or pants,  and will allow you to freely dance with the trees, butterflies, dragonflies, songbirds, wind, flowers, and water while, listening to a 70-minute playlist by Carrie Branovan "DJ Lady Zaza". </p><p>We will begin with an opening circle, share a few words (if you choose to), and set out with an intention enjoying a soundscape  in a shady pine forest overlooking a lake and prairie, followed by a meditation and a short ending art project (I will bring supplies). </p><p>You will plug your own headset ***<strong>Please note****</strong> your headsets need to have WIRES (see images below!)  Bluetooth headsets will not work with the provided receivers and not the flat type connection that plugs into the new iPhones and Androids) into the audio receiver, so that nothing is touching your face but your own personal headset....it can be an earbud type (like the type that comes with iPhones or Samsung phones)...or it can be an overear type (like Bose or Beats). In either case, make sure they are<strong> GOOD AUDIO QUALITY</strong> for listening to music and comfortable on your head and "shake proof".  If you don't have this, I have some overear units that you can use...make sure to contact me ahead of time! </p><p>After you register you will be provided with the location to meet. Please arrive 15 minutes ahead of time so we can walk to the location together. Please do not share the location with others who are not coming to dance. We want to keep it private, safe, and be respectful to the land we are honoring. </p><h3><strong>Who can Dance Your Prayers? </strong></h3><p>People have been dancing since the beginning of human civilization....it is a natural and healthy impulse. Many of us believe we are not "dancers" if we have not been formally trained. That we have "two left feet". In truth, life is a dance. Please give yourself permission to move with all you've  been feeling, what you hope for, what you are grateful for, what you grieve, what and who you love, togetherwith others  in a natural, beautiful and inspiring landscape. </p><p><strong><em>***Please note</em></strong><em>: we will be taking a short hike from the parking area to the dancing area-- so you will need to be able to be well enough to walk 5 minutes on a flat trail to the shady spot that will be home base. </em></p><p><strong><em>***Also please note</em></strong><em>:  It is best for small children and people and pets not dancing to stay at home or be elsewhere. If there is another adult available to watch your children and leashed pets they can hike to another section of the reserve, but it is best to give this short time to yourself without distractions if possible. It is a moving meditation and presence, peace, and calm is optimum. </em></p><h3><strong>what do you need to bring with you? </strong></h3><ul><li>A friend (ask them to register!) </li><li>Water</li><li>An  outdoor blanket or yoga mat  to rest and meditate before and after the dance session (your home base) </li><li>Soft soled dancing shoes-- like jazz shoes or ballet slippers, or aquashoes would work well. Shoes that will bend and allow dancing and are kind to the feet. Bare feet are not recommended. </li><li>A journal and/or sketch book and some art materials if you choose. </li><li>Recommend socks, light pants, long sleeves, layers. </li><li>Good quality comfortable headphones that you can plug into the audio receiver-- iPhone type headsets with the mini plug (male end) are fine-- or if you have higher quality like Beats those are great. BLUETOOTH HEADSETS WON'T WORK! They need to be headsets with a wire and mini plug. See picture below! </li><li>Snacks if you feel you will need them. </li><li>A hat, sunscreen, and natural insect repellent. We will be dancing in a "non-buggy" time and place-- but good to be mindful and take care of yourself. </li><li>Any items you want to place in the center of the opening circle that represents the wisdom of your body: pictures of ancestors, items that support you, use your creativity!  </li><li>Masks are optional. </li></ul><h3><strong>what will I provide for you? </strong></h3><ul><li>Directions to our secret location- it will be in Ozaukee County, north of Milwaukee, and will  require a car to travel there (unless you have a magic carpet of course...). </li><li>Parking at the site.</li><li>You will have use of a specialized "silent disco" type audio receiver to plug in your own headset to (as said I have a few overears type of headsets -- please resevre in advance). </li><li>70 minutes of custom mixed music to move to in nature to.</li><li>"Outhouse" provisions if nature calls. </li><li>Art supplies for post dance integration.  </li></ul><h3><strong>the Legal Stuff</strong></h3><h3><strong>weather contingent: if it is raining / stormy, the session will be canceled and all donations refunded. </strong></h3><h3><strong>please no photography or video allowed during the session. This is a very personal time for people in the community. </strong></h3><p>I will need you to agree to the following to participate in Dance Your Prayers. </p><p>Participation is fully at the risk and choice of participants. It is each person's responsibility to look after their physical, emotional and mental well being. Listen to your own body. If something hurts, pay attention and take care of yourself. All participants are asked to move at their own pace and to take care of themselves on all levels.
