"Mindfulness and the Possibility of Freedom: Angela Davis and Jon Kabat-Zinn in Dialogue" was a benefit for the East Bay Meditation Center, held on January 15, 2015 in Oakland, California.  An edited video of the event is now available here. Proceeds from the sale of the video support the work of the East Bay Meditation Center. The event also featured a performance by Sistahs of the Drum and a Question &amp; Answer session with the speakers. We extend our appreciation to Michael Wilson and Spirit Rock Meditation Center for editing and hosting this video. The East Bay Meditation Center offers meditation training and spiritual teachings from Buddhist and other wisdom traditions, with attention to social action, multiculturalism, and the diverse populations of the East Bay and beyond. We operate using a Generosity Economics model, meaning that all of our programs and events are available at no set fee. Instead, we invite all program participants to make voluntary gifts at the end of each event, to the level of their ability, which allows us to offer our programs to all individuals, independent of economic means.
