Learn to use your chef’s knife with comfort, efficiency & ease, plus how to balance and build flavor and taste for seasoning.

Workshop details:Build essential knife skills and develop familiarity with the most important tool in the kitchen, a chef’s knife. Chef Hannah Wong will instruct you on the basic components of a chef’s knife, how to hold a knife properly, how to use a honing steel &amp; your guiding hand effectively, and how to execute classic knife cuts. A honing steel is recommended for this portion of the class.In the second half of the workshop, turn your perfectly cut vegetables into dishes you can easily execute any day of the week. You&#x27;ll go over different oils, vinegars/acids, and savory elements; how to balance and build flavor and taste for seasoning. Learn to work efficiently and cleanly, moving safely with confidence and grace. Since graduating culinary school in 2012, she has worked at restaurants such as Gramercy Tavern and Battersby, while also doing stints in private events and catering. In March of 2019, Hannah and her business partner Yen Ngo opened Van Da, a modern Vietnamese restaurant in the East Village.
