August 7, 2020 marks 12 years since the full-scale military aggression of Russian Federation against Georgia.12 years ago, Russia took a blow at the rules based international order and shook international security and stability by launching a full-scale military aggression against Georgia, in gross violation of the UN Charter and the Helsinki Final Act. Although the massive armed hostilities stopped short of taking over the whole Georgia, the Russia-Georgia war left its longstanding undermining imprint on the international security and turned the perspective of peace and stability in Europe upside-down.In commemoration of the 12-year mark of this tragic event of Georgia&#x27;s recent history, the Embassy of Georgia is organizing a screening of a film &quot;Shindisi&quot;, a movie that is based on true events of the August 2008 War.Film Synopsis: The war between Russia and Georgia is almost over. Russian occupation forces have made a peace corridor and the Georgian troops are leaving the conflict zone according to the plan. The majority of the population is leaving their houses from occupied Georgian villages. Badri (50) and Vaja (45) do not plan to leave their homes; Badri has a seriously ill wife - Khatia, and Vaja takes care of 12-year-old daughter whose mother has died.Despite promised corridor, Russian forces open fire and the ones, who have not left the village, become not only witnesses of the most dramatic and unequal clash of the troops but take part by risking their lives trying to hide the wounded Georgian soldiers from Russians and help them to escape.#Aug2008War
