October is Accreta Awareness Month!REGISTER to fundraise and run or walk with us anytime between October 17 and October 25.NOTE: If you wish to not fundraise and instead support an individual fundraiser or team, please head to our <a href="https://www.mightycause.com/event/Accreta5k2020" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">event page</a>, find the fundraiser and click on DONATE.The Accreta Awareness Virtual 5K is both a week-long event and fundraiser. It focuses attention on <a href="https://www.preventaccreta.org/accreta" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">placenta accreta</a>, one of the fastest growing life-threatening complications of pregnancy.Lace up and get moving in your neighborhood or nearby parks — all while raising awareness of accreta and continuing your support of patients and families faced with accreta. You can run or walk the 3.1 miles or 5 kilometers, or do a combination of both, and participate at any time during the week of October 17.Placenta accreta currently affects 1 in 272 births, putting the mom at risk of severe blood loss, preterm birth, hysterectomy, and other complications. Every mom deserves risk-appropriate obstetric care. Making this a reality requires increasing awareness of accreta, supporting and advocating for moms and babies, and connecting patients and providers with resources to help improve quality of care. Funds raised will support <a href="https://www.preventaccreta.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">National Accreta Foundation&#x27;s programs and efforts</a> in these areas.Registration includes:<ul><li>Individual fundraising page to share your story and why accreta awareness matters to you</li><li>Donation to National Accreta Foundation</li><li>Option to join or create a team of fundraisers with your friends, family and/or accreta sisters</li><li>Option to receive a National Accreta Foundation aluminum water bottle</li></ul>Prizes for:<ul><li>Most funds raised</li><li>... and more to be announced!</li></ul>Make it fun:<ul><li>Wear your accreta gear and take a photo while walking/running</li><li>Form a virtual team with family and friends, and/or other accreta sisters in your area</li><li>Choose a location and walk with your local accreta sisters</li><li>Share your fundraiser, map out the distance and route in popular apps such as Google or Strava, and post photos on social media.
