This MPCA Turf grass Maintenance Certification Training is hosted by Mississippi Watershed Management Organization.The summer turf grass maintenance training focuses on best management practices (BMPs) for lawn/turf care maintenance that can save you money while protecting our valued lakes and streams.Registration closes Thursday, March 27, 2025 at 4pm.Who should participate?<ul><li>Private/public park</li><li>Cemetery, city and/or school grounds maintenance professionals</li><li>Property managers writing contracts</li><li>Turf care product distributors</li></ul>Topics covered:<ul><li>Environmental impacts of common turf BMPs to surface &amp; groundwater</li><li>Life cycle of turf/weeds &amp; appropriate control practices</li><li>Soil testing, fertilizer selection/application</li><li>Pesticide application tips</li><li>Equipment calibration and maintenance</li><li>Efficient &amp; effective irrigation</li><li>Equipment calibration &amp; improved mowing techniques</li><li>Legal issues</li><li>In-field reference materials</li></ul>Take the test at the end of training to get certified and be listed on the<a href="https://www.pca.state.mn.us/water/smart-salting-training" title="https://www.pca.state.mn.us/water/smart-salting-training" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"> </a><a href="https://www.pca.state.mn.us/water/summer-turf-grass-maintenance-training" title="https://www.pca.state.mn.us/water/summer-turf-grass-maintenance-training" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">MPCA Turfgrass training webpage</a>.
