Character & Prop Design Portfolio Tips from the Pros!

Art Director, Valerio Fabbretti (“The Fungies!” on HBO Max) and Character/Prop Supervisor, Becky Dreisdadt (“Adventure Time: Distant Lands” on HBO Max) discuss their careers and explain what makes for a great Character and Prop Design portfolio for a 2D TV-animated shows.

Becky Dreistadt is the character and props supervisor on “Adventure Time: Distance Lands”. She was lead character designer on “Steven Universe the Movie” and “Steven Universe: Future”. She was also a character designer on “Star vs the Forces of Evil”, “Bee and Puppycat” and “Lego Movie 2”. She has made several comics and kids books with her partner Frank, ”Capture Creatures”, “Tiny Kitten Teeth” and “Bustletown”. They have also developed three cartoons together. Most importantly, she has two cats, Honey and Maple!

Valerio Fabbretti was born and raised in Rome. He is a children&#x27;s book illustrator, character designer, and art director. He is currently art directing the Cartoon Network show: The Fungies! created by Stephen Neary in Los Angeles.
