At the end of 2016, I was unemployed. Let go from a major magazine, I was unsure of the next "best" step, how I was going to pay my bills, and (briefly) debated moving out of my dream city and back in with my parents. Fast forward just over three years, and I've built a career as a self-reliant entrepreneur by following my passions, asking a lot of questions, and trusting my gut. But, it surely doesn't happen overnight. In this seminar, I'll share my story from soup to nuts, and talk you through the important entrepreneurship know-how I wish I had from day one. Topic areas:<ul><li>Building a strong foundation (identifying your why, the important questions you should ask your self upfront)</li><li>Setting SMART goals</li><li>What's a personal brand?</li><li>Business particulars, including filing for an LLC or S Corp</li><li>What's a revenue model?</li><li>Networking best-practices</li></ul>* A portion of the proceeds from this event will be donated to Black Girls Run, an organization that encourages and motivates Black women to practice a healthy lifestyle, get out, and move.
