Welcome to MLK Storytime + Family Day at Tofu Tees! Join us for a fun-filled day of storytelling and family activities. Let's celebrate the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. together. Bring the whole family for a day of learning and bonding. We will be making zines, enjoying stories, and giving back to the community in ways that have an immediate impact. <h3>Storytime Special Guests: </h3>Sabrina Hughes of Brown Book Publishing Company whose mission addresses two critical challenges: the underrepresentation of Black and Brown voices in literature, and the need for culturally relevant educational materials. Sabrina will be reading from her personal library, and hosting an in-shop signing for anyone wanting to purchase her amazing books!Read Freely Nevada + Defense of Democracy (An amazing group of local librarians advocating to keep inclusive and historically accurate books in schools). Nichole and her fellow librarians will be bringing free books for guests that highlight MLK's amazing history of advocacy! <h3>Volunteer + Community Giveback Activities:</h3>Make sandwiches with us for those experiencing food insecurity. Make "wish bracelets" for women in transitional care center: West care in North Las Vegas. Don't miss out on this special event! See you there!
