The Ladyface Mountain Documentary Film Festival takes place February 6 - 8 in the scenic Conejo Valley, showcasing award-winning and thought-provoking documentaries. Screenings will be held in a comfortable, accessible venue with ample seating.Guests can enjoy Q&amp;A sessions with filmmakers following each feature, providing a unique opportunity for audience engagement. The venue is ADA-compliant, with wheelchair access and assistive listening devices available upon request.Food and beverages will be available for purchase nearby. Parking is free, with plenty of spaces on-site. Please arrive early for check-in to ensure a smooth experience. Whether you're a documentary enthusiast or new to the genre, this festival offers something special for everyone.

Thursday (Day 1)

A guided hike offering breathtaking views of the Agoura Hills and an introduction to the festival's connection with nature.

Kid Friendly Community Engagement Event & Screening

In ULTIMATE CITIZENS, Jamshid is an Iranian who came to study in 1970’s America, and due to the Revolution, never went “home.” As a guidance counselor in Seattle Public Schools, Jamshid’s best work takes place out of the building and on a playing field with “his kids,” the children of refugees and immigrants. Their parents are in the grips of their own struggles to make a living and a home in a strange land. Mr. Jamshid is the charismatic, fiery, funny human with a Frisbee in hand, who is the first to show that "love wins" on the field, off the field, at home with family, or boldly forging a new community, in a new country - one kid, chicken, extreme mile and friend at a time.

Opening Night Party @ Sunrose California Eatery

A stunning tribute to the resilience of Native people and their way of life, SUGARCANE, the debut feature documentary from Julian Brave NoiseCat and Emily Kassie, is an epic cinematic portrait of a community during a moment of international reckoning.   In 2021, evidence of unmarked graves was discovered on the grounds of an Indian residential school run by the Catholic Church in Canada. After years of silence, the forced separation, assimilation and abuse many children experienced at these segregated boarding schools was brought to light, sparking a national outcry against a system designed to destroy Indigenous communities. Set amidst a groundbreaking investigation, SUGARCANE illuminates the beauty of a community breaking cycles of intergenerational trauma and finding the strength to persevere.

In a remote, abandoned desert town, a vibrant community of artists breathes new life into the desolate landscape, drawing attention to the ecological crisis and imminent demise of the Salton Sea. Despite Bombay Beach's harsh environment and history of decay, this resilient community thrives.
This documentary offers a poignant glimpse into a town that feels like the last bastion of life on Earth. It serves as a microcosm of human potential, showcasing the beauty and fragility of existence, amid looming environmental threats and the challenges of climate change.
