Join us at the New Art Center for our Lunar New Year Community Cultural Day in celebration of the upcoming Year of the Snake!

Join New Art Center and our Guest Artist<a href="https://www.janekimtesta.com/" title="https://www.janekimtesta.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"> Jane Kim-Testa</a> for a celebration of Lunar New Year!This year is the year of the Blue Snake in the Korean calendar, or Wood Snake in the Chinese calendar. The Year of the Blue Snake is a year for wisdom, intuition, creativity, and personal growth!Art educators will lead participants through different make-and-take activities: origami snake, Korean kite coloring, lucky pouches, and Chinese calligraphy (featuring a demonstration by Ren Li Song).Performances include:Music by the <a href="https://gbcca.org/" title="https://gbcca.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Greater Boston Chinese Cultural Association's </a>(GBCCA) music ensemble, at 1:30pm.More performances to be announced soon!This event is FREE for all, thanks to our sponsors.

<h2>ATTENDANCE</h2>T he event is free and open to the public. The event is from 12 to 4 PM. Doors open 15 minutes beforehand.We will be photographing this event and by registering, you agree that there is a possibility you may be photographed and the resulting images used for marketing purposes (in email, social media, print, and on our website).<h2>ACCESSIBILITY</h2>T he Main Gallery can be accessed via a ramp that connects to the sidewalk on Washington Park. There is an accessible bathroom in the Main Gallery. The Main Gallery connects to other parts of the New Art Center via stairs. We will be broadcasting performances held in the Main Gallery to our other large room, where additional programming will be happening. Any questions about accessibility, please call 617-964-3424.
