It’s July 29, 2020, a bit after 5 pm. You’re sitting in the bleachers (socially distanced.... like super distanced) at the Lexington Legends Baseball Stadium, with a hotdog in your hand. You finally have a great excuse to be outside, attend an event, all while following every CDC guideline. You hear “WELCOME TO 5 ACROSS” explode on the Jumbotron. You start cheering with all the other startup fans as the first company is introduced over the loud-speakers and you see the timer start counting backward from 5 minutes. It’s ON. 5 Across, otherwise known as “Lexington’s Version of Shark Tank”, is BACK, with all the necessary safety precautions! On July 29, 5 Kentucky-based startup companies will have 5 minutes to pitch their startup and answer 5 minutes’ worth of questions from a panel of judges. The winner will go home with $500 and an invitation to pitch again in December at the Kentucky Theatre for 5 Across Finals and a chance to win $1,000.PS - Yes, we are hosting 5 Across at Whitaker Ballpark for the first time A) because it will provide a super safe atmosphere for all of you and B) because it will be cool as heck. But you already knew that.If you&#x27;d like to attend, but don&#x27;t feel comfortable or are unable to for health reasons, DON&#x27;T YOU WORRY. We&#x27;ll be live-streaming the event.
