We are pleased to offer Dance for PD® PRO classes at Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan on select Thursday evenings this winter.

The Mark Morris Dance Group, in collaboration with Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan, is delighted to offer Dance for PD PRO on the following Thursdays from 5:15-6:15 PM:January 9, 16, 23, 30 (no class January 2)February 6, 13, 20, 27March 6, 13, 20, 27April 3, 10Classes are offered free of charge to people with Parkinson's, their families, friends and caregivers; membership is not required in order to participate. Masks are strongly encouraged.We look forward to seeing you!About the classIn Dance for PD® classes, participants explore movement and music in ways that are enjoyable, stimulating and creative. Founded as a unique collaboration between the Mark Morris Dance Group and the Brooklyn Parkinson Group, the program is built on one fundamental premise: professionally trained dancers are movement experts whose knowledge is useful to persons with PD. Dancers know all about stretching and strengthening muscles, and about balance and rhythm. Most importantly, dancers know how to use their thoughts, imagination, eyes, ears and touch to control their movements.Designed for those who seek a level of mastery, comprehension, and focus through a rigorous dance experience, Dance for PD PRO classes integrate elements of diverse dance styles to help people with Parkinson's build and master a specific set of skills through a focused, intensive approach. Expert teachers guide participants through accelerated physical and cognitive training, technique, improvisation, and a focus on structural alignment in an intimate, friendly, personalized workshop environment.
