Make Friends - Play Games - No Phones Allowed! - QUEER Edition <3

At The Friendship Club, we believe that unplugging, meeting new people, or spending quality time with people you care about shouldn't be expensive or complicated. Weekly events in collaboration with local small businesses, allows us to bring people together for a few hours of digital detox and some face to face engagement through the use of board games, puzzles, coloring, and other tech-free activities. The goal of these gatherings is to raise enough money to open the worlds first "Internet-Free-People-Cafe" which is really just a clubhouse for friends where there are no expectations and you can be free to engage in authentic ways and share meaningful experiences.

Holidays aren’t for everyone! Or maybe you’re just taking a year off to enjoy a slow season. Either way, we hope you’ll join us for our debut offline gatherings in the month of December. If none of these dates for you, check 2025 dates coming soon!!

WHO:The Friendship Club is an offline community promoting social health and combating lonliness* by fostering real life connections and encouraging more intentional ways of enjoying free time.WHAT:Come lock up your phones (yes, really lock them up in our phone jail!) and enjoy some screen free activities while meeting new safe and like minded people at The Historic Willmore Building.ALL screen free activities are provided with several to choose from, including all the classics and Long Beach-opoly! That said, if it happens to go missing, sprout wings, or encounter an unexplained mishap, The Friendship Club isn’t liable. You will hold the key to your assigned phone locker.Not quite ready to hand it over? Agenda

Check in, lock up your phone - you will be assigned a phone locker + key. Grab some tea, and get acquainted with your new friends before we begin Self Reflection time! You'll find helpful conversation starters on each table. This is a good time to choose a game or other activity you want to use as well.

Connect with yourself using our provided introspection exercise worksheet (optional) or bring your own solo activity like a journal or book you've been dying to finish! 

Connect with Yourself

Connect with others using any of our provided pre-internet activities like board/card games, puzzles, coloring, etc.

Connect with Others

Wind down, pack up, and return any borrowed activities for completion of event. Bonus points if you have plans with someone by end of event!
