Montgomery's achievements include the Leonard Bernstein Award and a three-year residency with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.Florence Price, the trailblazing African-American female composer, broke barriers with her enchanting symphonic and chamber music. Her String Quartet No. 2 captivates listeners with its emotive themes interlaced with African American heritage influences and modernist harmonies from the early twentieth century.
