FPF Training: U.S. Privacy Landscape| T﻿his training will be a live virtual session.

Join the Future of Privacy Forum for a live-virtual session on the U.S. Privacy Landscape on Tuesday, January 28, from 12:00pm -2:00pm ET. Groups of 3 or more are eligible for a special group rate. Please send us an email at rsvp@fpf.org to receive your discount today! Commercial privacy in the United States can be a complicated maze of state and federal laws and agency enforcement. Weave in international data flows, such as EU-U.S. cross-border data transfer rules it can be hard to keep track of all the nuances. The U.S. Privacy Landscape course will take a broad view of the existing U.S. Privacy law through the lens of the FTC, proposed federal legislation, comprehensive state privacy laws and sectoral issues; followed by a discussion around international data flows, such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and Cross-Border Privacy Rules System (CBPR). Learning Objectives:<ul><li>Existing U.S. privacy laws and emerging trends in litigation and enforcement.</li><li>An overview of Federal Trade Commission (FTC) authority, areas of focus, and upcoming rulemaking.</li><li>Proposed Federal legislation such as the American Data Privacy and Protection Act (ADPPA).</li><li>Trends in comprehensive State privacy legislation.</li><li>Sectoral issues and laws, including youth privacy and safety, biometrics, automated decision making technology, and health data.</li><li>International data flows, including the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and Cross-Border Privacy Rules System (CBPR).</li></ul> This training will be a live virtual session. Upon completing the training, participants will receive IAPP CPE Credits and a digital badge from our partner, Credly, recognizing your newfound knowledge ​and demonstrating your commitment to staying at the forefront of privacy developments. FPF Faculty:Julian Flamant, Principal, Data Protection CounselJulian is an experienced privacy, security, and AI attorney who provides strategic advising and compliance management services as principal of Data Protection Counsel PLLC. Julian previously was a senior associate in the Privacy and Cybersecurity group at Hogan Lovells and was one of the first policy fellows at the Future of Privacy Forum. Julian’s law practice covers a broad range of data protection issues in the U.S. and internationally. He works with clients to develop practical solutions for addressing reputational, legal, and business risks.
