The Challenges of Learning to Read and Why Supporting Readers Can Be a Struggle
In this training, participants will:
•	Reflect critically on own experiences as emerging readers and develop empathy for students learning to read.
•	Determine the challenges of learning to read as well as why we (society, educational system, educators, etc…) are struggling to support readers.
•	Identify and apply effective strategies for striving readers.
•	Describe the essential components of a successful reading program to support students.
