Spring Curriculum Regional Meetings - North

Formed in 1970, the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges is a 501(c)6 nonprofit organization. Created for the promotion and advancement of public community college education in California, its general purposes are:To strengthen local academic senates and councils of community colleges;To serve as the voice of the faculty of the community colleges in matters of statewide concern;To develop policies and promote the implementation of policies on matters of statewide issues;To make recommendations on statewide matters affecting the community colleges.The Academic Senate gets its authority to strengthen local senates on California community colleges statewide from the California Code of Regulations Title 5 Section 53206, which says:(a) An Academic Senate for the California Community Colleges has been established through ratification by local academic senates or faculty councils so that the community college faculty of California may have a formal and effective procedure for participating in the formation of state policies on academic and professional matters.(b) The Board of Governors recognizes the Academic Senate of the California Community Colleges as the representative of community college academic senates or faculty councils before the Board of Governors and Chancellor's Office.

This event will be in person only and will take place on the campus. Please email events@asccc.org for space availibility if you missed the registration deadline.With so much change, it is an exciting time to be part of the curricular universe. Join your colleagues to discuss all things curriculum at one of the upcoming Spring Curriculum Regionals. Sessions will include a mixture of core concepts, helpful practices, and updates on legislation affecting the California community colleges system. There will also be time to engage with colleagues and share local practices. Everyone is welcome. Teams and individuals are encouraged to attend, including faculty, academic senate leaders, department/division chairs, curriculum chairs, local and district curriculum committees, articulation officers, curriculum specialists, and administrators.Registration will end March 10, 2025. No shows or cancellations after the deadline will be billed $25. If you are unable to attend please email events@asccc.org before the cancellation deadline. Cancellations must be received in writing.The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?All attendee registrations must match the ticket. If you would like to transfer your registration, you must cancel the first one, then register the second attendee online.
