Heather Houston is a Santa Cruz-based song leader, choral director, recording artist, and vocal empowerment coach with over 30 years of experience in uplifting hearts and building community through the power of song. Founder of the Yala Lati Women’s Choir and creator of the Sisters in Harmony Retreats, Heather leads transformative singing experiences both in person and online, including at venues like Esalen, Sivananda Bahamas, and 1440 Multiversity. Her music, rooted in themes of healing, unity, and connection with nature, is sung by communities worldwide and can be found in her online song library and on all major streaming platforms.

Community Sing & Ritual featuring songs from Heather's Shadows & Light album

German Cultural Center Santa Cruz - German American Hall

<h4>Come gather in community (both in person and on Zoom) and sing the songs from the Shadows &amp; Light album woven with Winter Solstice songs.</h4><h4><br></h4><p>Heather will lead you through some breathing practices, a vocal meditation warm-up, and offer some gorgeous songs woven with prayers, intentions and ritual for the Solstice.</p><p>*Bonus - members of Yala Lati Women's Choir will be there to help with the holding of parts. </p><p>The German Cultural Center Hall was designed and built for live music in 1959 - specifically SINGING!! It's amazing!! :)</p><p>The hall will be all aglow with lanterns and candles. We'll be seating in concentric circles with an altar in the center. </p><p>Please bring an item for the altar of seasonal beauty or something that represents an area of your life that needs tending.</p><p>Let's dive deeply together in communtiy, song, and prayer.</p><p>ALL are welcome!<br><br>This is a hybrid event - join us in person or on Zoom<br></p>
