The goal of this club to have an informal discussion of a published article and to improve our understanding of the utility, application, and expectations of laser therapy.

This week’s article is:

Kaydok 2019. Short-Term Efficacy Comparison of High-Intensity and Low-Intensity Laser Therapy in the Treatment of Lateral Epicondylitis: A Randomized Double-Blind Clinical Study (view abstract).

We will present a brief overview of the article. After the overview, we will discuss the findings in the context of using laser therapy in the clinic. We encourage all attendees to review the article ahead of time and bring your own questions and comments. Below are a few suggested questions to consider for the discussion.

What did you take away from the study?
What (if anything) did you find surprising or conflicting with your current understanding of laser?
Offer up one question related to methodology or take home.

For a deeper dive, consider looking deeper into plan of care, dosages, and outcomes examined. How do the dosages compare to what you use/have used? What would you do differently if you could redo the study?
