Do you have a car? Help home bound Holocaust Survivors by delivering emergency food packages to their homes.

Met Council continues to assist New York City&#x27;s most vulnerable communities impacted by Covid-19 crisis. Beyond Met Council&#x27;s usual work of supplying millions of pounds of free food to 149 pantries and special distribution sites, we&#x27;re now delivering free groceries directly to the homes of our 2,000 Holocaust survivors.We are currently in need of volunteers with vehicles who can deliver food packages to holocaust survivors in Brooklyn and Queens. Volunteers who can commit to helping out on a weekly basis are preferred, however, a one time commitment is also welcomeEach volunteer will pick up their packages and route information from the Met Council Kosher Food Warehouse in Canarsie, Brooklyn. Each route would be about 4-10 deliveries which will take generally 2-5 hours. We are asking that volunteers be between the ages of 18-59, be healthy and symptom free. We will provide PPE for all volunteers performing knock and drop deliveries to clients&#x27; front doors.We are cautioning those who are sick or who could be considered a High-Risk Individual to not attend volunteer activities. The Department of Health and Mental Hygiene identifies High-Risk Individuals as the following: individuals with chronic conditions like heart disease, diabetes, individuals with a compromised immune system, and individuals with chronic lung disease and/or cancer.If you are not feeling any cold or flu like symptoms and are not considered and at risk individual, please sign up for this volunteer opportunity to help pack emergency kosher food packages for our over 200,000 clients that are in need of food during this crisis.For other ways you can help visit metcouncil.org/get-involved
