Alex has been a coach since early 2013 and received her Starting Strength Coach’s Credential in April of 2017. Alex has coached hundreds of people in their journey to becoming stronger and believes it is an important aspect of physical longevity and general awesomeness. Alex is a recreational powerlifter with training bests of 270/170/300 respectively and enjoys puppies, sazeracs, and eating Ribeyes. Alex currently coaches out of Atlanta Barbell in Dectaur, Georgia & for Barbell Logic Online Coaching.

Introducing Atlanta Barbell Outdoors!In the post-COVID-outbreak world, health is moving exponentially higher on the priority lists of millions. Not only is exercise an important facet of overall health, but it is also associated with &quot;a reduced incidence of infection compared with a completely sedentary state.&quot; (Gleeson, M 2007, &#x27;Immune Function in Sport and Exercise&#x27;, Journal of Applied Physiology, vol. 103, no. 2, pp. 693-699.) It is also becoming more difficult to access exercise-options that also feel safe and comply with social distancing guidelines. Not only does being outside greatly reduce your chances of being infected with novel coronavirus, but it also allows for optimal social distancing with more room to spread out. We are dedicated to bringing you accessible strength training at Atlanta Barbell Outdoors!The Problem with Most Group Exercise...Most group exercise is based around the idea that getting you hot, sweaty, and tired is enough to constitute an effective exercise program. Not only is this randomized format not effective in producing meaningful, long-lasting results, but it can create a dangerous environment when progressions in exercises are presented too soon. In order to produce exercise adaptations that are both meaningful and long-lasting, two things need to be present: progressive overload and appropriate modifications. We at Atlanta Barbell have developed an outdoor strength &amp; conditioning program that builds on itself week after week to produce true progression and also meet you where you are in regards to the movements used in class. This means that this program is effective for both the total beginner and experienced lifter. By providing appropriate modifications for each workout, this means you can jump in at any time and get a workout that will be effective for you. *Classes take place weather permitting. At least 2 people need to be signed up for a class in order for it to go on as scheduled. Payment will take place through PayPal or Venmo.
