<p>Join Liberty City historian and neighborhood advocate Jacqui Colyer for this walking tour through Liberty City. Home to the very first housing project in the United States built solely for African Americans during the time of intense and purposeful segregation in Miami, Liberty City has a rich history and significant stories to tell.  DHT, NWD Projects and Girl Trek Overtown are building bridges through “A Walk Through Our Neighborhoods”, an environmental performance project created out of a series of neighborhood walks. The health of our environment depends on the health of our neighborhoods and the shared health of one another. Each walk is unique and guided by a resident who chooses the focus for that neighborhood. Within that focus, we will include the influence of Black and minority residents who forged the shape of the community as well as the environmental issues that are reshaping its future.</p>
