Norway House is a destination for the community with over 40,000 visitors annually. The big, blue Albert Quie Education Center opened its doors at 913 Franklin Ave, Minneapolis in May of 2015, strategically adjacent to Mindekirken, the Norwegian Lutheran Memorial Church in the Ventura Village neighborhood. The location boasts a rich and diverse residential history.Through our programs—which include the Galleri at Norway House, Minnesota Peace Initiative, and the Edvard Grieg Society of Minnesota—you can experience contemporary art, design, and music. Visitors can engage in discussion about important topics that share links to Norway and the global community.We serve not only as a center for our programming, but also as a convening space and resource for our business and non-profit partners, locally and globally.

Visit Norway House and take a class in Norwegian making and baking!

Stephen Aysta, knifemaker and owner of Tera Forge knife sharpening service, will show you how to care for your kitchen, carving, and outdoor knives and give a overview of knife safety.This class will cover the following:<ul><li>Basic knife construction</li><li>Stainless versus carbon steel and the new "SuperSteels"</li><li>Honing steel vs ceramic vs diamond rods</li><li>What makes a knife sharp?</li><li>How to get the blade to "sharp"</li><li>How does a knife cut?</li><li>Why does it matter?</li></ul>You will have time in class to practice different kinds of sharpening. Bring your own knives for practice.If you have knives that you would prefer to have a professional sharpen, you may bring them to class for Stephen to sharpen at his studio in Roseville, to be picked up later.
