Center for Performance and Civic Practice (CPCP) is a national resource for artists and communities working together for arts-based, community-led transformation. We are a national team of artists who believe that with the right approach, the same tools and capacities that artists use to make art can be utilized to transform systems and improve the impacts of government and community-driven efforts and programs.  Housed within CPCP is nationally recognized ensemble theatre company,Sojourn Theatre.

2020 Sojourn Theatre Summer Institute: Theatres, Civic Practice &amp; Community Relationships amidst Crisis and RecoveryThis Institute is recommended for the staff of arts organizations and theatre companies seeking to develop and/or deepen mutually beneficial, equitable relationships in their place. We will be offering this year’s Institute as pay what you can.This particular Institute will be focused on supporting artists, staff, leaders and administrators who work currently within a company or organization. If you are an independent artist, we recommend that you connect with us via sojourn@sojourntheatre.org so we can discuss whether or not this Institute will be a good fit. You are not unwelcome- we just want to make sure that you will feel served if you choose to attend.INSTITUTE LEADERS: Sojourn Theatre’s Rebecca Martínez &amp; Michael RohdSCHEDULE: We will take a 1 hour break at 10:30 PDT, UTC -7 each day, as well as shorter breaks throughout each day.ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Limited openings - all availability is on a first come, first serve basis.
