Join us for the Opening Reception of the Altars Festival with the Altar America Exhibition at Art Works, showcasing altars honoring ancestors, cultural heritage, and shared stories.This year’s exhibits include Nadiya Nacorda and The Educated Birth’s tribute to Black maternal health, P. Muzi Branch’s Black Fire altar celebrating the label’s influence on Black music, and Crimebabies’ AI-inspired collective installation.Meet and greet with the artists and festival team and engage in meaningful conversations about traditions, loss, healing, and connection.Featured Artists: Janine Bell, P. Muzi Branch, Ingram Brown, Christopher Flowers, Nadiya Nacorda (and The Educated Birth), Zaza Willis, Merenda Cecelia, John Latell, Eric Westra, Richard Harding, Mary Riley, Frederick Chiriboga, and CRIMEBABIES Collective.RSVP now to be part. The event is free to attend, but space is limited!Parking: Off street parking is available or use the public garage located on East 5th Street, only 1 block from the art center.
