Greetings,Let's talk about the elephant in rooms of America — racism.Racism is the foundation of most, if not all, U.S. ailments. The south is the melting pot of Black people, and home of the most racist states in the U.S. For over 400 years, the powers-that-be have conspired to rig the 'Be-American' game, forcing Black people to work twice as hard to barely get half as far in the country. Blacks are falling further behind in health, wealth and safety. But that is the past.

In 2020, the future must be different. In Gwinnett County, Georgia, Blacks are the majority-minority and always have been. As a Black person in Gwinnett and Georgia, you must deal with the challenges of (1) being human in this world and (2) finessing whiteness on a daily basis. Imagine that duality of living.Black communities in Gwinnett and Georgia deserve and demand thoughtful, visionary policies and practices that provide justice, equality, equity and parity in every aspect of their lives. In executing — with priority — a Black agenda, Gwinnett, Georgia and America can finally be great.Following the work of Black To The Future Action Fund (B2F), the BLACK AGENDA FOR GEORGIA encourages elected officials and government entities on all levels to meaningfully and tangibly address and solve the effects of structural and institutional racism.During this virtual meeting, we will discuss the who, what, when and how of the BLACK AGENDA FOR GEORGIA. This community conversation is presented by Black Gwinnett Magazine, Gwinnett Black Chamber of Commerce and Camrose Creative Services, Inc.We are inviting residents and supporters of Gwinnett County, Georgia to join this community conversation. As we walk through each point of the BLACK AGENDA FOR GEORGIA, we will hear from invited guests.The Black Agenda for Georgia: Make Black People Powerful in Our (#4) Society and (#5) Communities. <ul><li> We must reject the toxic culture of racism and white nationalism by calling it out at every opportunity and in front of every audience. We will ask our non-Black allies to step up and speak out. Johnson, PhD - Dr. Sharon D. Johnson is a Writer and Depth Psychologist. She engages literature, the arts, popular culture, and religion/spirituality through the lens of depth psychology and African American historical experience. Dr. Johnson is certified in Lector ministry, has 25 years experience as a journalist, and a produced television writer and member of the Writers Guild of America, West, Inc. since 1993.Tamara Johnson-Shealey - &quot;I can no longer watch the leadership in Georgia and the leadership in America drift further and further away from the best interest of everyday people.&quot; Tamara Johnson Shealey is an activist, advocate, author, JM candidate and Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate to represent Georgia.Cheryle Renee Moses - &quot;I am an innovative and fearless leader. I speak truth to power and fight for ALL people. The Democratic powers-that-be told me if I wanted to win this race, I could not talk about race. I stand for truth and no one will stop me from talking about that which is at the foundation of the ailments of America.&quot; Cheryle Renee Moses is a 2020 Democratic candidate for Georgia State Senate District 9 in Gwinnett County. She is the creator of The Black Agenda for Georgia. ViviAnne Rain - &quot;As a Black mother of a 16-year-old Black son, I worry about daily about my child in this white America.&quot; Rain is an advocate for civil and human rights and is very active in the political arena supporting candidates who support the Black community.Tim Wise - Scholar and philosopher Cornel West calls Tim Wise, “A vanilla brother in the tradition of (abolitionist) John Brown.” He is among the nation’s most prominent anti-racist writers and educators. Wise is the author of seven books, including his highly-acclaimed memoir, White Like Me: Reflections on Race from a Privileged Son, as well as Dear White America: Letter to a New Minority. His Speak Out with Tim Wise podcast is an informative and entertaining show focused on racism and economic justice in the age of Trump.
