Food For Life: Nutrition Essentials explains why a plant-based diet is effective in improving overall health and attaining a healthy weight. The information shared is based on research by leading medical and nutrition experts and favors vegetables, fruits, legumes, and whole grains. This introduction will provide you with a foundation to help you start to lose excess weight, and possibly improve important health markers such as cholesterol, blood pressure, and blood sugar levels. <h3>Your Plant-Based Nutrition Instructor</h3>This event is hosted by Planted Platter and taught by Deb Czech, a licensed Food For Life instructor through the Physicians Committee in Washington, DC. Deb has been a plant-based eater since 2012 and has completed several training programs in plant-based nutrition.Food for Life is an award-winning nutrition education and cooking class program that provides an innovative approach to diet-related chronic diseases. Designed by physicians, nurses, and registered dietitians, Food for Life promotes healthful eating based on the latest scientific research. <h3>Registration Information</h3>Take Online Plant-Based Cooking &amp; Nutrition Classes from Home To ensure participants' safety and health during COVID-19, all classes are presently being taught online via Zoom. While you can participate using a cell phone, use of a device with a larger screen, such as a tablet, laptop, or desktop computer, is highly recommended. Receive Zoom Link and Handouts via EmailAll registered participants will be emailed the Zoom link, plus copies of handouts, in advance of each class. Obtain Transfers and Credits for Future ClassesIf you sign up for a class but find you will be unable to attend, Planted Platter is happy to provide you a credit for the full value of the class (less the EventBrite fee) that you may either transfer to a friend who can take this class in your place or that you can apply to a future class or private coaching session with Deb Czech.
