Yes, a full, hot, breakfast including made-to-order omelets, waffles, cereals, scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, sausage, biscuits & gravy, fresh baked donuts, and more is all included with each overnight stay at the Blue Gate Garden Inn. This is complimentary to all guests in the hotel.

Is there any special events occuring during this meeting?

Yes, the famous weekly Shipshewana Antique Auction will take place on Wednesday of SATW week. One tour will be going there on Wednesday morning early, but the Antique Auction continues until the last item is sold, usually by Noon. This auction is open and free to the public.

Yes, there is plenty of free, paved, parking at the Blue Gate Garden Inn & Conference Center.

Do I need to bring cash or does every place take Credit Cards?

Accepted Answer

Some of the Amish businesses that we will visit on the tours or experiences do NOT take credit cards. Guests should plan to bring cash for those cases and if they want to buy direct from some of the Amish. There are ATM's in the destination at a few places to assist too.

What time zone is Shipshewana?

Shipshewana is on the Eastern Standard Time Zone (New York) and is one hour different from the Central Time Zone (Chicago).

Can I visit a Walmart, CVS or Walgreens when in Shipshewana?

Accepted Answer

Shipshewana is a community of 850 people and does NOT have any commercial national chain businesses. There is a local pharmacy that carries some items and can receive prescriptions if needed. Guests are encouraged to plan ahead and to contact Sonya Nash in case of emergencies at 574-344-0943 for aid

Can I get any of my items shipped home to me AFTER the meeting vs. packing them in my suitcase?

Accepted Answer

Yes, Visit Shipshewana will be happy to coordinate return shipments for anyone with SATW. UPS Account numbers will be requested to cover shipping costs OR payment in another form. Packing materials, boxes, tape will be supplied at no charge. Visit Shipshewana will facilitate labor and arrangements.

Which airport do I use to get to Shipshewana, Indiana?

The closest airport is the South Bend International Airport (SBN).  TRANSPORTATION requests must be made by emailing Sonya@lagrangecountycvb.org and include airport, carrier, flight numbers/times for arrival and departure BY MARCH 1, 2026.

Complimentary shuttle between SBN and Shipshewana is planned for Apr 28 (arrivals 10:00–14:00) and May 1 (departures 06:00–10:00). Seats are limited/not guaranteed. Submit final travel plans by Mar 1, 2026, via email sonya@lagrangecountycvb.org. Outside the windows? Please arrange your own travel.
