About the eventOur new initiative, the Made in Hungary Film Festival, is a celebration of Hungarian film culture and a promotional event series for the Hungarian film industry. The mission of the brand new festival is to introduce the diversity and richness of contemporary Hungarian cinema to the Los Angeles audience. Moviegoers will have the opportunity to discover the freshest films across various genres and themes that have attracted significant audiences in theatres and online, as well as those that have received critical acclaim.Made in Hungary is not just about films; it is about building bridges between cultures, sharing stories that touch our hearts, and experiencing the unique perspectives that Hungarian cinema and film industry have to offer. The film festival is organized by the National Film Institute of Hungary, in collaboration with the Liszt Institute New York.About the movie:This sweeping historical epic follows Sándor Petőfi, a firebrand young poet whose ‘National Song’ ignites the Hungarian Revolution against the ruthless Austrian Empire on March 15, 1848. As Petőfi bravely carries the torch of the uprising, the Austrians send a devious and formidable secret agent, the Hungarian turncoat Farkas, to stop him at any cost. Their conflict escalates into a dangerous game of wits and cunning, leading to a final confrontation that will decide the country’s fate for generations.
