Topic Tuesday: Wildlife Images With Impact

Dawn Wilson is an award-winning, professional nature photographer specializing in photographing wildlife of high altitudes and high latitudes of the Rocky Mountains and Alaska. Her writing and photography has appeared in numerous national and regional publications, including Nature's Best Photography, MotorHome magazine, Alaska magazine, Colorado Life, Colorado Outdoors and more. A native of New Jersey where she studied journalism and marketing, she currently resides in Estes Park, Colorado, serves on the Board of North American Nature Photography Association (NANPA) and is a Master Naturalist with the City of Fort Collins.

Ever wonder why you come home all giddy about your outing to photograph wildlife with great memories of the moments you experienced only to be disappointed when you look at your images, which don't reflect the impact?
There are many ways you can change those images around—from composition and lighting techniques in the field to post-processing options when you are home.
We'll discuss what to look for, how to capture it and why certain images stand out more than others.
