Hosting 250+ events over the past decade, Girl Geek X has created connections and shined a spotlight on 1K+ female speakers. We are a community of 40K+ women excited about learning about new technology, meeting other women in tech, & hearing fellow girl geeks speak onstage at these events. Read books (provided by the <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/events/7244743331522437122/comments/#" title="https://www.linkedin.com/events/7244743331522437122/comments/#" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Oakland Public Education Fund</a>) to students in 2-3 elementary school classrooms at Sequoia Elementary in Oakland, California! Reading aloud to children helps them develop important skills and build a lifelong love of reading.As a <a href="https://www.oaklandedfund.org/programs/volunteer/read-in/" title="https://www.oaklandedfund.org/programs/volunteer/read-in/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">guest reader</a>, you’ll also have a chance to ask students questions about the book read and share about yourself (your connection to Hispanic Heritage Month, your connection to Oakland, and why you’re excited to be there!).Don’t forget to spread the word and invite your coworkers &amp; friends to join you in volunteering!
