Looking for a meaningful Jewish way to support democracy this election season? The Neighborhood is proud to partner with The Workers Circle and Center for Common Ground to bring you this very special Democracy Circle in the Sukkah. This family-friendly gathering will encourage participants of all ages to think about and discuss their relationship to democracy, and to do it in celebration of Sukkot with themes of hospitality, shelter, and honoring ancestors. This gathering will feature a training in text banking as a form of voter outreach, as well as music, art, and community conversations about this critical moment in our democracy.Democracy Circles are small groups of people who join together to demand the democracy we need; a truly multi-racial, multi-cultural democracy that represents all of us. Democracy Circle participants are invited to draw upon their own diverse experiences–personal, historical, and cultural–as a critical foundation for our collective engagement.Everyone who wishes to build a “better and more beautiful world for all” is welcome!

Sukkot Democracy Circle is presented by <a href="https://theneighborhoodbk.org" title="https://theneighborhoodbk.org" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">The Neighborhood: An Urban Center for Jewish Life</a> in partnership with <a href="https://circle.org" title="https://circle.org" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">The Workers Circle</a> and <a href="https://www.centerforcommonground.org/" title="https://www.centerforcommonground.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Center for Common Ground </a>as a part of the Sukkot in The Neighborhood festival at the Ring Community Center at Luria Academy of Brooklyn. Sukkot in The Neighborhood events take place in an art installation Sukkah created by Ye’ela Wilschanski.
